Our staff are currently focused on the following projects:

  • Planning for Healthy Places explores community planning solutions to increase access to healthy foods and physical activity through improvements to the built environment

  • The School Health Law Project works with school nutrition advocates to improve or eliminate contracts with food and beverage companies

  • The Technical Assistance Legal Center works on tobacco control policy issues

  • TB Control and the Law provides legal research and training on the protection of community health and individual liberties as they relate to communicable disease

  • Medicine for People in Need works to improve pharmaceutical access and management at clinics throughout California serving primarily uninsured and publicly insured patients

  • The Buck Tobacco Sponsorship Project works with communities to eliminate tobacco sponsorship at California rodeos and related events

  • The Public Health Trust manages cy pres settlements from litigation regarding public health
