We analyze and assess laws and policies from across the country in order to understand different approaches, compile promising practices, identify gaps in existing laws and policies, and think creatively about how to improve the landscape.

• PHLP developed a user-friendly chart comparing a number of state and local menu labeling laws and assessed emerging research about the impact of such laws. Our lawyers ultimately drew from this information when developing a model menu labeling ordinance.   
• PHLP analyzed zoning ordinances and land use policies from around the county before developing a model community garden zoning ordinance aimed at protecting and promoting urban agriculture.
